Valpo Girls Volleyball Program Remains Undefeated with Wins Over Hobart

The Valparaiso High School girls’ volleyball teams advanced to a combined 14-0 to start the 2011 as the school's three teams defeated their respective Hobart Brickie opponents on August 23rd, 2011.

The varsity team made quick work of Hobart in three games, winning 25-8, 25-7, and 25-11. The Vikings were led by Sara Clark’s 11 kills, followed by Madison Olsen’s 10. Tarrah Lasky added 37 assists in the contest, complimented by Kate Workman’s 21 digs and three service aces. Mary Bobos added four service aces and six digs as well against the Brickies.

The junior varsity team won their two games by a combined score of 50-19, headed by a team effort of Timi Stiscak’s 4 kills, with Kathy Minko, Mattie Chayhitz, and Anna Walls each adding three. Chayhitz also contributed 13 assists for the Vikings.

The freshman Viking team also won in two games, putting up scores of 25-6 and 25-4 to dismantle the Brickies. Emmy Chojecki contributed in a big way to the victory with 10 service aces, followed by Katie Mulroe’s three.

The Vikings' girls volleyball's next game is Thursday, August 25th starting at 5:30pm at Valparaiso High School against the Michigan City Wolves as they start Duneland Athletic Conference competition!
