The Valpo Heat Squad went 5-0 over the weekend to win the ”War by the Shore” Tournament.
The team beat Old School Baseball to capture the title. The team was led by Ty Gill (.823), Carter Casko (.785, 3 HR’S ), Ronny Morey (.764, 2 HR’S), Spencer Reed (.733, 3 HR’S), Mike Smith (.692), and Will Behrend (.615).
The Valpo Heat Squad next heads to Omaha, Nebraska June 11-15th to play in the “Battle for Omaha” during the College World Series opening weekend.
According to Coach Gill, “This was a positive win heading into Omaha, I’m proud of how the boys played all weekend." Valpo Heat outscored their opponents 68-12 while capturing the crown.
