Valpo Mayor Talks Leadership in New Discussion Series

Mayor Jon Costas and pastor Lionel Young present “Good to Great: A Study on Leadership”

Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas and Calvary Church Senior Pastor Lionel Young will facilitate a 6-week series of discussions about leadership beginning Wednesday, Feb. 15. The series is hosted by the Men’s Ministry of Calvary Church. Weekly conversations will center on the book Good to Great by Jim Collins with particular emphasis on discovering key skills for steering businesses, organizations, and churches toward success.

“Our church wanted to give leaders in our community an opportunity to learn from an effective leader like Jon Costas in a casual setting,” said Lionel Young. Topics up for discussion include building an effective team, addressing organizational weaknesses, and establishing a culture of discipline. Participants may also raise issues of interest to them.

Discussions will be held 7 – 8 a.m. on Wednesdays through March 21. All meetings are free and open to leaders in any field or those interested in developing leadership skills. No registration is required.
