First-through-Sixth graders can team up and play volleyball in an 8-week program through the winter months.
The program is a partnership between the Valpo Parks Department and the Boys & Girls Club, with the Parks programming the league and the Boys & Girls Club providing the practice and game site. In addition, the Valparaiso University volleyball team will run practices to teach the basics and hone the skills of the youth players.
The league has three age groups: 1st & 2nd Graders, 3rd & 4th Graders, and 5th & 6th graders. Rules are modified to help kids have a great time learning volleyball and being successful. It’s a great community program with partners working together for an enjoyable youth sports league. For $65 ($77 for non-city residents), youth volleyballers get the 8 week practice and game season, plus a membership to the Boys & Girls Club on Jefferson Street in Valpo. (Price is reduced by $35 if the youth is already a Club member).
Contact the Valpo Parks by December 20 for Coed Youth Volleyball registration. It is available online at www.ValpoParks.org, by phone at 219-462-5144 or in person at 3210 N. Campbell Street. Please bring Boys & Girls Club membership card if registrant is a member.
