Organizing Your Chaos – Declutter Class
This one hour session will provide tips on getting organized. Participants can bring along that junk drawer, or learn how to organize their closets. The class will offer help in organizing anything the P.A.R.K.S. way—Prioritize, Arrange, Remove, Keep, or Sell. Class is Thursday, November 13 in the Welter Room at 6:00 PM. The price is $20 per person

Cards in a Snap
Using stamp sets, ink, dyes, and embossing folders, class participants will leave with three completed greeting cards from the Stampin Up product line. The class is Thursday, November 6 in the Welter Room at Forest Park Golf Course from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Price is $20 per person and all materials are included.

Valpo Fit City Challenge
The use of seven Valparaiso fitness facilities for eight weeks is only $25 through the Mayor’s Fit City program. Buy a pass and try them out from Nov. 3 to Dec. 31. Participating facilities include Boys & Girls Clubs (Valpo facility), Fit Pointe, Pumps Fitness, Southlake Martial Arts, Top Fuel Crossfit, Will Power Fitness, and Valparaiso Family YMCA. Offers include unlimited access to the facility (and pool and track) at the Valpo YMCA, CircuitFit classes at Top Fuel Crossfit, kids classes at the Boys & Girls Club, and more. A Fit City Challenge pass can be purchased at the Valpo Parks office by stopping in or calling 219-462-5144.

Dance by Fred Astaire Studios
Learn four exciting dance styles in this seven week class, including Salsa, Swing, the Hustle and the Rumba. This session arrives just in time for holiday parties and New Year’s Eve. The Monday night class runs from 6:15 to 7:30 PM beginning November 10 through December 15 at the Frwad Astaire Dance Studios at 2759 Morthland Dr. Register at the Valpo Parks Office or call 219-462-5144. Price for Valparaiso city residents is $75 per couple or $40 per individual; $12 is added for those residing outside city limits.

Cooking at the Cottage
Children stir, chop, bake, and taste their way into hands-on kitchen fun. The theme is Fall Foods. The class for 3 to 5 year olds meets Fridays from 9:00 - 11:00 am from Nov. 7th – 21st. The price this three class series is $38 for city residents; those who live outside Valpo city limits are $50.

Youth Volleyball League
Youth stay active through January and February with this coed volleyball program. The volleyball league for 1st – 8th Grade is 8 weeks coed league separated into 4 age appropriate divisions. Rules will be modified to help kids have a great time learning volleyball and being successful. Teams will practice once a week. All practices and games will be held at the Boys & Girls Club of Valparaiso (354 Jefferson St.). Register by December 12. Practices begin Jan 5. Game on Saturdays from Jan 24 through Feb 28. Bonus with registration is an annual Boys & Girls Club membership. Price is $65 Resident / $77 Non-Resident.

Broadway in Chicago Day Trip
January 3 is the next day trip for a matinee performance of Disney’s “Newsies” which received 2012 Tony Awards for best choreography and best score. The day package includes a matinee ticket, motor coach transportation to and from Chicago’s Oriental Theater, and exclusive Suite Service prior to show and at intermission.
