Please join the Valpo Parks Foundation at the casual reception "Celebrating Friends & Legends" as it honors those who lend support and volunteer to aid in the mission of the Foundation. This year's event is Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the Butterfield Family Pavilion.
The "Art & Irene Malasto Legends Award" will be presented in order to give recognition and appreciation to 2013 Legends award recipients Bob & Nancy Urschel. The Valpo Parks Foundation’ s “Legendary Friend” Bill Alexa will also be honored for his exceptional work with the Foundation.
The watercolor pictured here of the "Art & Irene" statue, which stands at ValPlayso, was painted and given to the Foundation by Valpo resident Ed Spelde, becoming the symbol of "Celebrating Friends & Legends." The annual award is named after the Malastos who were the first recipients of the honor in 2009.
