Valpo Parks has new summer baseball leagues at a great value. In addition, games won’t conflict with soccer or other spring seasons of Valpo Parks programming. Kids as young as three years old can participate in T-ball. Baseball players can play in Rookie, Minor, Major and Babe Ruth Leagues and each is categorized by age from seven up to fifteen years old. Valpo Parks Girls Softball League is for players age 5 to 16.
Softball 6U – 16U
Valpo Parks Softball League teams will compete against Boone Grove, Morgan, Washington, Kouts, LaWanna, South Central, and other Valpo teams. Bicentennial Park will serve as the home field. Games will be played during weekdays and Saturdays. Game dates are April 25 through the end of June The cost per player includes a 10 game season as well as a team hat, jersey and socks for each player. Cost per player is as follows: 6U $52/$64; 8U $62/74; 10U/12U $72/$84;16U $82/$94 (depicts city resident rate/non-resident rate). Registration deadline is February 27.
Majors Baseball for ages 11-12
Major Baseball League for eleven and twelve year olds will compete against Boone Grove, Morgan, Washington, Kouts, Liberty Rec, and other Valpo teams. The season will consist of 10 games and will conclude with a single elimination tournament. Weekday games start at 6 pm, Saturday times vary; the season lasts from April 25 through the end of June. Fields have 70 ft bases and 50 ft pitcher mound. Cost is only $72 for city residents and $84 for non-residents. Players also receive a team hat, jersey and socks. Registration deadline is March 4
Babe Ruth League 13-15 year olds
Thirteen to fifteen year olds can play Babe Ruth League, also ten games and a single elimination tournament, competing against Boone Grove, Morgan, Washington, Kouts, Liberty Rec, and other Valpo teams. Fields have 90 ft bases and 60 ft pitcher mound. Weekday games start at 6 pm, Saturday times vary; the season lasts from April 25 through the end of June. Registration for Babe Ruth is only $100 for city resident s and $112 for non-residents. Players also receive a team hat, jersey and socks. Registration ends on March 13.
Rookie League for ages 7 – 8
Valpo Parks Rookie players will pitch starting the first game. The league will be in-house with games played at Westside Park. Games dates are June 6 through July 18. Weekday games start at 6 pm and Saturday game times vary. The season will consist of 10 games, concluding in a single elimination tournament. Price per player is only $62 for city residents and $74 for non-residents. Each player also receives a team hat, jersey and socks. Registration deadline is May 8.
Minor League for 9 – 10 year olds
The Minor League for nine and ten year olds has a ten-game season, plus a single elimination tournament. The games are played in-house at Westside Park with weekday games starting at 6 pm; Saturday game times will vary. Price per player is only $72 for residents and $84 for non-residents. Each player also receives a team hat, jersey and socks. Registration is through May 8.
T-Ball for 3 to 6 year olds
The 3yr old season includes 3 weeknight games and 1 Saturday game. Weekday games start at 6 pm, Saturday times vary. The 3 yr old league will use Unbelieva-balls and Wiffle Balls to help promote catching and throwing. Game Dates are June 6 – June 26. The 4 to 6 yr season includes 5 weeknight games and 3 Saturday games. 4 to 5 yr olds play traditional t-ball. 6 yr olds play starting from a tee and transition to a coach pitch. Game dates are June 6 – July 18. Cost per player is as follows: 3yr olds are $30/$42 and 4-6 year olds are $50/$62 (depicts city resident rate/non-resident rate). Registration deadline is May 8.
