The Valparaiso University track & field team had a pair of relays compete in the 4x1600 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday.
The men’s squad of Ignacio Veloz Bonilla (San Juan, Puerto Rico / American Military Academy), Jack Worman (Hanover Parks, Ill. / Hoffman Estates), Evan Walda (Fort Wayne, Ind. / South Side) and Eric Carothers (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) clocked a 17:22.24 to place seventh. The Valpo women were represented by the relay team of Grace Aurand (Highland, Ind. / Highland), Ellie Roeglin (Delafield, Wis. / Lake County Lutheran), Maranda Donahue (Delton, Mich. / Delton-Kellogg) and Joelyn Overstreet (Genoa, Ill. / Genoa-Kingston), which posted a 21:18.55 to place eighth.
The track & field program will be back in action on Saturday, May 1, hosting the Valpo Invite at Warren G. Hoger Track.
