Valpo Schools Foundation Fundraiser Supports Our Students

The Valpo Schools Foundation hosted their annual wine tasting fundraiser over the weekend, to raise money for student scholarships and project grants for teachers to develop their students. 260 people were in attendance, up 50 from the previous year. Without profits from the wine sales, which won’t come in for several weeks, the event took in $14,000, that will be given back to benefit our students!

The Valpo Schools Foundation can’t thank the Eleftheri (owners of Triangle and Trail Inn Liquors) family, vendors, and all those involved enough for making this a memorable event,” stated Foundation Board President Steve Buck, “They have done this for 18 years for charities in Valparaiso. Business owners like this is what makes Valparaiso a great place to live. We look forward to making this a signature event that people will look forward to attending each year.”

Some of the great donated items that were part of the silent auction that night included signed sports memorabilia from the Blackhawks and White Sox, passes to Disney World, a stay in a Florida resort property, a Keurig coffee brewer, Wheel of Fortune VIP passes, and so much more! There was even a bottle of Sam Adams Utopia up for auction, valued at $200!

Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s tasting and come out to support our students!
