FitCityLogoOver twelve weeks, you will follow an easy walking plan that will help you build up the strength to walk a 5K by the end of the program. You are encouraged to follow the walking plan on your own then gather with our summer walkers for the monthly Fit City walks. So grab your friends and family to start walking this summer.

This program provides an easy and free opportunity to add fitness into your busy lifestyle. Let 2010 be the year you get fit,” said Megan Owens, Recreation Program Services Coordinator. The Summer Walking Program begins on June 12 and concludes in September. This is a free program.

The Summer Walking Program kicks off with the first Fit City walk on June 12 around the Cumberland Loop. The walk will kick off at the Valparaiso Family YMCA at 9am. Several vendors will be on hand including Porter Hospital, Vale Park Animal Hospital and Fleet Feet.
