With a score of 128 points Valparaiso High School places 2nd in Sectionals Meet, Portage taking 1st with a score of 137. Top 3 including Chesterton with a score of 116. Other schools were LaPorte 113, Wheeler 42, Michigan City 32, New Prairie 29, Washington township 21, Marquette Catholic 4 and Westville 1.
In the sprints for the 100 Meter Dash running for Valpo were Alex Vasile and John Halfman. Vasile placed 3rd after Preliminaries and Finals with a time of 11.45. In the 200 competing for Valpo were Adam Thoma and Vince Milton, Thoma taking 6th in the Finals with a time of 23.76. In the 400 running for Valpo were Cody Zander and Ricardo Rosario. Zander placed 4th with a time of 52.01, Rosario placing 6th with a time of 53.32.
In the 110x10 Hurdles were Andrew Kittridge taking 1st in the Finals with a time of 15.44. Placing 6th was Josh Marciniak with a time of 15.97. 300 Intermediate Hurdles were Alex Vasile taking 3rd with a time of 41.18 and Josh Marcianiak placing 5th with a time of 42.00.

Distance events included the 800 Meter Run with Dan Marchetti placing 3rd at 2:00.82 and Nik Jeftich placing 7th at 2:05.74. The 1600 Meter (1 mile) Michael Bobos took 5th at 4:36.87 and Xavier Reed took 6th at 4:37.24 and the 3200 Meter Run (2 mile) Ahmad Aljobeh placed 1st at 9:39.71 with Peyton Reed taking 2nd at 9:45.44.
Relay events included the 4x100. Valpo's team made up by Adam Thoma, Andrew Kittridge, Alex Vasile, Jordan Romanov & John Halfman and Vince Milton as alternates. Their team placed 4th with a time of 44.60. The 4x400 with the team made up of Dan Marchetti, Josh Marciniak, Nick Violante, Alex Vasile & Adam Thoma and Cody Zander as alternates placing 3rd with a time of 3:25.27 and in the 4x800Ahmad Aljobeh, Nick Violante, Nik Jeftich, Dan Marchetti & Peyton Reed and Michael Bobos as alternates also placing 3rd with a time of 8.04.61.
Well represented in field events as well were Jordan Romanov placing 1st in the High Jump at 6-06.00 also jumpin was Nick Lamm in 9th place at 5-6.00 Romanov also placed 1st in long jump with a jump of 21-11.25. Paul Andrie placing 5th in Pole Vault with a vault of 12-00. In the Discus Nate Jorden took 5th with a throw of 128-09.0 and Lonnie Pappas took 8th at 122-08.00. Shot Put included Jake Grossnickel placing 4th with a throw of 49-08.75 and Lonnie Pappas placing 5h with a throw of 48-07.00.
