This year things are going to be done a little differently. Under the direction of coaches Susan Lopez-Baker & Kara Wissing, try-outs are now under way for the new season of Valpo Vikettes Flags & Dance. There will be 2 times to try out this year for Vikettes because they will be considered a "Team" and be divided into 2 seasons. The Vikettes will also now have the opportunity to "Letter" as a sport.
There is already a nice number of girls trying out for the first season learning new choreography for flags and dance some of the girls having no previous experience. No experience is not a deterrent though, the coaches along with returning Vikettes are practicing and teaching the new girls the basic routines. Such skills as a Jumps, Leaps, kicks & Turns along with dance & flag routines. The try-out clinics are being held Mon.-Wed. this week with the actual try-outs being held on Thurs., May 5. I hope all the girls make the team. Go Valpo!
