The Valparaiso University women’s soccer program announced today its schedule for the upcoming 2019 season, a slate which features eight home matches on the newly-installed turf of Brown Field.
The regular season opens up with a pair of home matches, as Valpo welcomes Green Bay (Aug. 23) and Oakland (Aug. 25) to town to kick off the 2019 campaign. A match at Bowling Green (Aug. 30) follows, as the Brown and Gold take on a Falcon squad which advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year and captured MAC regular season and tournament championships, before Valpo returns home to face off with Wright State (Sept. 1).
Valpo then ventures to Western New York for two matches, taking on St. Bonaventure (Sept. 6) and Canisius (Sept. 8) in its trip east. The three-match stretch away from home concludes Sept. 13 at Purdue Fort Wayne. Valpo returns home to welcome IUPUI (Sept. 15) and Colorado State (Sept. 20) before closing non-conference action Sept. 22 at UIC.
Valpo opens the single round-robin Missouri Valley Conference schedule Sept. 28 at Missouri State. The Crusaders will also hit the road in conference play to face Indiana State (Oct. 5), defending champion Loyola (Oct. 16) and Drake (Oct. 26). Valpo will host MVC matches this season against Illinois State (Oct. 12), Evansville (Oct. 20) and UNI (Oct. 31), with the matchup against the Panthers closing the regular season.
The six-team MVC Tournament kicks off Nov. 3 with first-round matches at campus sites. Missouri State will host the semifinals and finals of the tournament Nov. 8 and 10, respectively. The MVC Tournament champion earns the conference’s automatic berth in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
