ValpoNEXT Announces The Launch on September 24

Valparaiso-Vibrant-VisionaryThe ValpoNEXT visioning effort invites the entire community to the unveiling of the citywide Vision Plan at The Launch event on Sept. 24, 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, 1600 Roosevelt Road (entry 7 & 8). There will be a short presentation at 6:30 p.m. along with unstructured time to allow the community to browse a series of displays. “The Launch will be a celebration of community involvement and a momentum builder as we begin to implement the plan,” said Elizabeth Lynn, ValpoNEXT co-chairman.

“We’re eager to get started on ideas that the entire community contributed,” said Mayor Jon Costas. Nearly 700 people of all ages and interests got involved in the ValpoNEXT visioning effort, sharing ideas and priorities that have resulted in the plan to be unveiled. “We’re eager to transform these ideas into action.”

“We heard Valpo loud and clear. Residents value connections, green spaces, walkability, and a welcome feeling,” said Matt Evans, ValpoNEXT’s volunteer co-chairman. “People will be pleased to see that these themes play a big part in the Vision Plan.”
