ValpoNEXT Announces ‘What’s Next’?

valpo-nextValparaiso’s ValpoNEXT visioning initiative continues to move forward, inviting the community to continue submitting Big Ideas through April 11. “We don’t want to miss any big ideas, but we need to start organizing concepts so we’re ready for the Community Summit event on May 28,” said Elizabeth Lynn, Valpo resident and co-chair of ValpoNEXT. The Summit will be an opportunity for the community to hear a summary of Big Ideas, learn about initial concepts, and share their reactions.

You may submit an idea, by April 11, in a variety of ways:

• Visit www.valponext.org and submit your idea through the MindMixer interface which you can now access directly from the project website. • Visit www.valponext.org/contact and fill out a contact sheet. • Visit the Valpo Next Facebook page and leave a Big Idea or comment.

“Already more than 300 people have shared their ideas for Valpo at the Big Idea Workshops. But we’re interested in hearing more. We encourage people will take a few minutes to weigh in,” said Matt Evans, Valpo resident and co-chair of ValpoNEXT. The community should also mark their calendars for the ValpoNEXT Summit on May 28. The time and location will be announced soon.

The ValpoNEXT visioning process will result in a specific implementation plan for Valparaiso’s next 20 to 30 years. The plan will be completed by this fall.
