Ron DeTorrice, Valparaiso’s Public Works Director has resigned to take a position in the Charleston, West Virginia area. “Ron has been an incredible leader and team member who did a great job for Valparaiso,” said Bill Oeding, City Administrator. “We will miss his expertise and involvement in our community, but we wish him and his family all the best in West Virginia,” he said. 
DeTorrice joined the city in May, 2009, replacing Bill Oeding who served as Public Works Director before being named City Administrator. “The remaining management team at Public Works remains intact and we’re confident that services will continue uninterrupted as we work to find a new Director,” said Oeding.
The search for a new Public Works Director will begin with current employees who may be qualified and interested in the position; then the position may be advertised to the public.
