Fun in the Son Summer Day Camp sponsored by Victory Christian Academy is more that just day care for your child during the summer months. The camp is planned to be a positive, enriching and growing experience for your child. The camp is located at VCA’s North Campus on 360 North 325 East in Valparaiso, Indiana. 325 East is just east of Highway 49 off 400 North County Road. We provide a recreational day camp filled with enjoyable activities and learning experiences. It is staffed by experienced professionals who have dedicated themselves to working with children and providing a program filled with exciting activities in a fun, safe environment. Campers may attend weekly or on a daily basis.
The Mission of FUN in the SON
VCA Fun in the Son provides a recreational program for parents who need summer childcare or are seeking enrichment activities for their children. The camp’s mission is to provide a loving Christian environment that offers campers a safe and exciting summer adventure.

FUN in the SON Daily Times
Extended Daycare
8a.m. – 9 a.m.
Day Camp
9 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
On field trip days campers would be available for pick up between 4:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Afternoon Daycare
4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Child may be dropped off anytime and picked up anytime except on field trip days (see above)
Registration Fees and Camp Rates
REGISTRATION
To register your child for camp, please complete a Summer in the Sun Camp application and return it with the registration fee to: Victory Christian Academy 805 LaPorte Avenue Valparaiso, IN 46383
This is a one-time fee upon registering for camp. It includes the assurance of a camp spot (if sign up Wednesday before the week of camp), camper insurance, a camp T-shirt and the cost of processing. It is non-refundable.
Early Registration (prior to or on May 14th))
- $25: for enrolled VCA student
- $35: for non-VCA student
Registration (after May 14th)
- $35: for enrolled VCA student
- $45: for non-VCA student
WEEKLY CAMP RATES
Rates include two daily snacks, a weekly field trip (some weeks have two trips), transportation and admittance costs, activity costs, fees, awards, etc. For children attending the weekly VCA camp, the costs of Basketball, Soccer and Praise Dance camps are included in the week’s charge. The VCA Camp will reimburse the special camp that week. Campers that are not attending each day that week, will need to pay for the camp directly for that week and $10 will be subtracted from the charge for camp that day.

- $ 30 (no sibling discounts)
*All fees include any time students attend from 8:00am – 5:30 pm
Payments are to be made the Wednesday before the week/day of camp. Exceptions can be made if the camp is not over the camper limit but payment is to be made before the student attends camp. Call 548-2701 for availability.
Attendance: Camper(s) may attend individual days or weeks or all twelve weeks. Keep in mind that availability will be limited, so reserve your week(s) and day(s) by paying early to insure enrollment.

+Trips will be planned for Tuesdays but the day may change depending on transportation scheduling. Notification will be given the week before each week of camp.
The General Schedule for the Week
- Monday in Motion – On Mondays the theme will be introduced and physical activities including games and exercises are a part of the day to keep children healthy and excited about the week to come. Books, arts and crafts, outdoor activities and team building games, etc. will be a part of each Monday.
- Tuesday Trips – Tuesday will be the main day for field trips except the week of June 1-4, it will be a Friday trip. The time to leave each Tuesday will depend if it is a special camp week of Basketball or Soccer. Those camps are from 9:00-11:00 daily. Campers will have lunch at the school or on the afternoon trip. See added information concerning pool/beach items to bring.
- Wednesday Water Fun – Campers are to bring their swimming suits this day and water activities will be a part of the day from slip and slide, sprinklers, and water balloons to water experiments and games.
- Thursday Theatre – Campers will have regular activities throughout the day, but included will be a G-rated movie that relates to the themed week. If there is an exception of a PG movie, you will be notified ahead of time.
- Friday Finale – The week will end with more activities that pertain to the theme from experiments to sports activities to hikes to our back woods.
A detailed weekly schedule will be provided at the time payment is received. This schedule will outline the activities your camper(s) can expect to experience at camp. Outings and/or field trips will also be specified on the weekly schedule. Additional forms such as consents or releases may be attached to the weekly schedules. When weather sends day camp to the great-indoors, activities may be changed or modified.
