VCS Needs Your Help!

VCS-vote-yesDear Friend of Valparaiso Community Schools (VCS):

I truly hope that you are as passionate as we are about maintaining the excellence that our Valparaiso schools have to offer our children and the reputation of our community.

Sue and I moved to Valparaiso in 1972 so that our own child could benefit from the tradition of educational successes that have been displayed in our schools and the values and community support that Valparaiso is known for. Both of us were teachers in the Valparaiso Community Schools for four decades - and the reputation of Valparaiso's schools is what drew us both here.

This great reputation has attracted many folks to our community and therefore keeps our property values high. Valparaiso attracts the best educators from which we staff our school corporation. Our children have spent their instructional years with some of the finest teachers without which their accomplishments, both personal and academic, would not be realized. Many of our teachers were Valparaiso graduates themselves that have come back to teach future generations. It was an honor to have taught with the best!

But, some of our schools fail to provide the safe and proper learning environment our kids should have. Our community needs to provide the type of safe, neighborhood facilities capable of providing Valparaiso youth a technology-ready curriculum to compete with schools in neighboring communities like Lake Central, Crown Point, and Duneland.

yardsignYour support and volunteerism are being sought as we enter into the campaign to pass local tax referendums in order to ensure a safe and proper learning environment that is not too overcrowded. If improving these facilities is important to you, then please offer your support. Please email us at hoffman1404@comcast.net or call us in order to join this crucial initiative. You can also reach Sue by phone at 219-241-4756 and Mark at 219-241-6328. Please forward this email on to fellow supporters as well. Spread the word!
