Perhaps some of the most beneficial aspects of modern medicine are the advances in technology that make it possible to have procedures without needing surgery, and with minimal recovery time.
Such is the case with those who want to pursue a more youthful appearance. Physicians at Vein & Laser Institute were among the first in Northwest Indiana to offer Silhouette InstaLift™ - a surgery-free option for men and women that is ideal for correcting signs of aging in the nasolabial folds (creases between the nose and mouth), regaining volume in the cheeks, correcting jowls, and redefining the jawline.
Professionals at Vein & Laser Institute hosted a free seminar on Wednesday highlighting Silhouette InstaLift™ Facial Rejuvenation, providing attendees with a chance to connect with Vein & Laser staff in person to learn about the procedure, ask questions, and schedule appointments.
Vein & Laser Institute takes a multidisciplinary approach to providing care for their clients, involving physicians, nurses, and radiology practitioner assistants and others who have mastered the high-tech skills for providing this type of care.
At Wednesday’s seminar, patient Char Rogalski modeled a before-and-after appearance after having the InstaLift™ procedure about three months ago.
“It was nice to be able to see the positive outcome of Char’s procedure,” said Jessica Greichunos, RN, BSN, a presenter at the seminar. “She had benefitted from Sculptra Aesthetics, which helps the body rebuild collagen naturally over time, and then InstaLift™ to complete the look she wanted. I was able to show the before and after as she stood in front of the attendees and it was a great representation of what we can accomplish.”
Michelle Sinnes, an InstaLift™ specialist, explained the procedure at the seminar, showing attendees the tools that are used, and providing a detailed overview of what to expect.
During a Silhouette InstaLift™ procedure, the physician places threads under the skin through a needle entry and exit point and advances the skin along those threads to achieve a lift. The procedure is different than original thread lifts of years past because it uses a more advanced technique, with threads that dissolve over time and stimulates the body to produce additional collagen. A local or topical anesthetic is all that is needed, and recovery time is swift. Minimal swelling and bruising can be experienced up to seven days after a procedure.
As Rogaliski was able to demonstrate in person at the seminar, the effect of InstaLift™ is natural, due to the patented design of the threads.
Heather Parker, RPA (radiology practitioner assistant) at Vein & Laser Institute also provided information about the procedure and answered questions – the most common of which are: is it painful, is there downtime, and what results can be expected?
Most people experience no pain associated with the procedure itself, as a local anesthetic is used. Mild discomfort can occur during the procedure and afterward, typically for up to seven days after the procedure. The procedure takes about an hour, results are immediate, and the benefits are long-lasting partly because there is a progressive restoration of collagen over time (which provides a fuller look to smooth out wrinkles).
Greichunos said the evening was a success. Attendees were offered refreshments, goodie bags, and those who made appointments were able to take advantage of a promotional offer.
