Veteran Valpo Announcer Dick Harlan Joins Region Sports Network

With an already impressive lineup of broadcasters, the Region Sports Network has recently added a veteran voice to their roster as Dick Harlan has joined the Highland based company and will be the RSN’s voice of Valparaiso Vikings boys and girls basketball.

This will be Harlan’s 40th season of play by play calls and he is no stranger to listeners in Valparaiso – having broadcast Viking sports since the fall of 1994.

“I’m happy to be able to continue broadcasting Valparaiso High School games with the Region Sports Network,” Harlan said. The veteran announcer will be joined on-air by color analyst and former head coach Paul Curtis. “Paul and I have been doing Valparaiso High School games together for the past 11 years and it is wonderful that we will be able to continue to do so with the Region Sports Network.”

Region Sports Network president Chris Ramirez is excited to have Harlan on board for the hoops season.

“We’re pleased to have Dick Harlan join the RSN roster of talented play-by-play professionals,” Ramirez said. “Fans of Valparaiso High School sports are very familiar with Dick’s voice and broadcast style. Teaming his talents with our production staff means we’ll be offering the best broadcast coverage of Viking sports available.”

RSN coverage of the 2010-2011 Valparaiso boys and girls basketball seasons will include a minimum of 30 games, with more expected during the tournament. All Viking boys and girls basketball games can be heard on 98.3fm, WVLP-LP, www.regionsports.com and www.valpolife.com.
