After hearing of the terrible devastation wrought in Henryville, IN this past march in the tornado, The Valparaiso Band Parent Association contacted the band at Henryville High School. Shanna Ledbetter, the director, said the band room was a total loss. Thankfully, insurance covered most of their equipment, however their largest fundraiser, which had to be canceled, was to be held at the end of March.
The executive committee of the Valparaiso Band Parent Association, led by Dana Goelz, President, and Lisa Stressler, Vice-President, contacted all the band families at both of the middle schools as well as the high school and asked if they would be interested in sending a donation to help offset the bands losses. Our band families stepped up immediately and raised $1200.00 in five days!
The money will be used to cover some of the small items that were not insured. Thanks to all of our Band Families!
