This fall, the Valpo Boys' Varsity Basketball Team sold pizza cards to support both its team and our local food pantry, Housing Opportunities, Inc.
Because of the efforts of Assistant Coach Brent Kimmel, the players and the generous contributions from the community, the Vikings were able to raise over $800 for needed families of the Valparaiso Community.
In addition, the company Sports Fundraising Network matched the Vikings contributions doubling the total amount raised, thereby bringing our total to over $1,600 for our local food pantry. This money will feed dozens of hungry Porter County families this Christmas season.
Presenting this check on behalf of the Valpo Viking Staff are Herb Hofer and Valparaiso High Schools Principal, Dr. Reid Amones. Accepting the check on behalf of Housing Opportunities, Incorporated is Caren Furdek.
