VHS Boys Basketball Takes Down Portage in Impressive Road Win

The Valparaiso High School boys basketball team went on the road to Portage High School and came away with a 53-32 victory over the Portage Indians on Friday night.

The Vikings overcame a slow start, falling behind 13-7 after the first quarter, but Valpo quieted the raucous crown by outscoring Portage 28-7 in the second and third quarters to put themselves ahead and run away with the game.

Jerrick Suiter led the Vikings with 13 points and nine rebounds and three assists, while John Clymer added 10 points and four rebounds. Adam Butterfield came away with six points and seven rebounds for VHS.

The VHS boys play again on Saturday night at home against South Bend Clay, and the Region Sports Network radio broadcast will be live on ValpoLife.com! Be sure to tune in!
