VHS Boys Cross Country Prepare for State in Style

The Valparaiso High School Boy's Cross County team advanced past the New Prairie Semi-State Meet on Saturday, October 23rd in style. Now, they are putting that style into action. On Thursday, October 29th, 2010 just days away from an intense state meet in Terre Haute, the team decided they needed something to bring them together and "to get jacked". Buzzing their heads was exactly the answer. So, they made it an event in itself -- at Traces Salon. Free cuts were given to the team, and the boys really loved the entire process. Not only were they "doing something crazy" for the state meet, but it might just cut a few seconds off their
time. Maybe.

All top 12 runners had the buzz cut going and are ready for business come Saturday. Although some of them did not like the new look, they took it for the team anyways.

Area teams besides Valpo that will be at the state meet are Crown Point, LaPorte, Munster, and on the girls' side, Crown Point, Lake Central, Portage and our very own Valpo, who also finished with a first place finish at New Prairie.

The state meet this Saturday, October 30th, 2010 will be held at the Lavern Gibson Championship Course in the Wabash Valley Sports Complex in Terre Haute. Admission is $8 and the girls are set to run at noon while the boys will hit the gas at 12:45 PM.

Go cheer on the green and white to victory! Good luck boys!
