The Vikings slipped to sixth in the Region Sports Network's weekly Top Ten ranking of regional teams after their loss to Carmel last week. An excerpt is below, but you can see the full rankings by clicking here:

We’re going to give the Vikes the same treatment that we gave Merrillville last week. In a game they were expected to lose, Valpo could have treaded water in the poll if they had kept it respectable. They didn’t, so they drop four spots. The 49-0 defeat was the fifth worst loss in Viking history and the worst since they went down 53-0 to LaPorte way back in 1951. We know that Valpo played two tough opponents to open up the year, so the 0-2 start isn’t shocking, but we thought they’d at least keep the games closer. Now its show me time for the Vikings with DAC play starting up and a trip to Slicerland on the docket.
