Chesterton Dual Meet
It is inevitable that during a long season all teams will have a bump in the road to excellence. The meet last evening could be characterized as one of those momentary deviations askew from an amazing early season. Thus far this season the girls appeared unwavering in their goals and determination to achieve greatness by their championship meet. Therefore with as strong as we have been swimming lately, we can easily accept the opportunity to learn what we still need to address as we rapidly approach the championship season. At every meet up to this point in the season, the team has averaged well over 60% season or lifetime best times, but last evenings performance came in at just over 10% of the swims.
Top performances at the meet were turned in by Kaitlyn Steffus (400 Free), Marissa Cain (200 Free), and Ryan Thomas (100 Free). We now look to refocus our efforts as the varsity team gets a much needed respite from meets until we travel to Lafayette Jefferson during the holiday break.

Chesterton Junior Varsity Dual Meet
Kristy and I are always excited when we go to a JV meet because we know it is a chance for the younger girls on the team to step out from underneath the shadow of the varsity and shine all on their own. We also love to watch all the huge time drops typically turned in by these girls. The meet last evening against state powerhouse Chesterton did not disappoint us as the girls exhibited their immense growth since the beginning of the season. Virtually every swimmer last evening had a lifetime best time in their individual swims during the meet. To demonstrate what a great meet our girls had last evening you can find their time drop in seconds for each event listed below. It was a lot of fun and a perfect start to the holiday season.
