The Valparaiso High School baseball team fell to fifth overall in the Region Sports Network’s weekly top ten rankings of Northwest Indiana’s top baseball teams for the week of May 2, 2012.

5. Valparaiso Vikings (10-6; Last Week: #4)
We had the Vikings among the Region elite last week in the #4 spot but with losses to Portage and Crown Point they might not be ready for that tier just yet. Valpo can improve their record, and thus their chances of moving up in the poll, with a winnable schedule this week that features games against Boone Grove, LaPorte, Michigan City and Warsaw.
