The 2014 Viking Boys Basketball Camp will be from June 16-19. Boys who have just completed Kindergarten through 3rd grade will have camp from 1:00-2:15pm in the Main Gym at VHS. Boys who have just completed 4th through 7th grade will meet from 2:30-3:45pm.
Cost of the camp is $40. All campers will receive a Valpo Camp T-Shirt. Boys will receive instruction from the Viking coaching staff and players. The camp will focus on skill development in ball handling, passing, and shooting.
This past season, the Vikings had 5 former players playing at the collegiate level: Brad Karp (St. Xavier’s all-time leading scorer), Hayden Humes (University of Illinois-Chicago), John Mosser (Southern Nazarene), Quentin Palmer (I.U. Northwestern), and Drew Boetel (I.U. Northwestern). These players, in addition to Robbie Hummel of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, and Scott Martin who played at Notre Dame and now plays professionally in Europe, all sharpened their skills at the Viking Basketball Camp as youngsters.
Parents, please use Door #5 at the back of VHS to enter for camp. Pick your son up promptly when camp is over. Cost is $40 per camper. Please make checks payable to Valparaiso High School. Hope to see you soon!
