Viking Football Raises to 5th Best in Northwest Indiana in RSN Top 10

rsn-logoThis week's Region Sports Network's top ten ranking of the top football teams in Northwest Indiana sets the Vikings as the region's 5th best team, despite going 0-2 on the season after a tough road battle at Penn High School and nearly topping one of the state's top teams against Carmel on Friday.

You can read the Vikings' excerpt below, and be sure to read the full top ten over on the Region Sports Network website!

5. Valparaiso Vikings (0-2; Last Week: #7)
As weird as it is to drop a team three spots for losing to a much larger school, it’s even stranger to move a team up a couple of spots that has an 0-2 record, but count us convinced, and impressed, with the Valparaiso Vikings, after narrowly losing to both Penn and Carmel in the first two weeks. The Vikes lost both games by a combined 60 points last year, so it looks like they’ve improved under Dave Coyle. With no disrespect towards their DAC rival, after facing both the Kingsmen and the Greyhounds, Valpo is thrilled that 0-2 LaPorte is the opponent Friday.
