Viking Girls Basketball Falls to LaPorte 51-41

The Valparaiso High School girls basketball team fell 51-41 in a Duneland Athletic Conference battle against the LaPorte Slicers on Saturday.

The Vikings headed into the half with a slight 25-23 edge, but were unable to slow down a strong surge in the second half as the Slicers outscored Valpo 18-6 in the third quarter.

Clarisse Fletcher led the way for Valpo with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals, while Amber Klein added 10 points, two steals and an assist. Stephanie Parker also grabbed six boards for the Vikings.

Valpo plays two games this week, first hosting Lake Central on January 24, with the JV game starting at 6 followed by the Varsity game at 7:30. They then travel on the road to Crown Point on Friday.
