The Valparaiso High School golf team combined to shoot a score of 159 to defeat the Munster Mustangs (174) at the Valparaiso Country Club on Tuesday.
The Vikings took five of the top seven spots with Kyle Meihofer and Andrew Gariup each shooting a 4-over 39 to tie for first place, followed by Logan Bertalan shooting a 40. Valpo’s Bobby Jacobs tied with Munster’s A.J. Gauthier for fourth place, scoring a 41, while Valpo’s Alex Pancek and Munster’s Matt Specht tied for sixth with a score of 42.
The Vikings next tee of on Saturday as the JV team travels to Rochester High School while the varsity visit Marquette High School in Michigan City.
