The Valparaiso High School baseball team traveled east to La Porte on Monday, coming away with a 8-3 win over their Duneland Athletic Conference rivals.
The Vikings saw a strong performance from starting pitcher Andrew Weston, who threw a complete game, notching six strikeouts in the process. CJ Gear went 4-for-4 from the batter's box including two doubles. Sam Miller also hit two doubles for Valpo, notching three RBI in the process.
The JV team fell 5-4.
