The Valparaiso High School boys’ golf team took home a surprising fifth-place finish in the 2012 Duneland Athletic Conference Tournament held at The Brassie Golf Course on May 30, 2012.
The team, who went 23-1 on the year and 13-1 in conference play, combined to shoot a 313, good for fifth behind Lake Central (300), La Porte (87), Crown Point (311) and Portage (311).
Bobby Jacobs was the best-shooting Viking in the tournament with a four-over 76, tied for sixth overall. Logan Bertalan shot a 77, while Kyle Meihofer (78), Andrew Gariup (82) and Patrick Andrie (82).
