The Valparaiso High School volleyball program had a great day on September 20, 2011, as all three Viking squads emerged victorious against the Wolves of Michigan City.
The varsity team won in three games, scoring 25-13, 25-12, 25-12 in the match to raise their record to 19-2 (7-1 DAC) on the season. Brigid Scannell led the way with 19 kills and 10 digs. Tarrah Lasky added in 44 assists, 13 digs, and two block assists. Sara Clark came away with nine kills, while Madison Olsen and Carrie Clark both added in six.
The junior varsity team raised their record to 15-5 (5-3 DAC), winning 25-21, 25-21 on Tuesday. Sabrina Brown and Timi Stiscak both contributed six kills for Valpo, and Carly Greubel and Cassie Klavas both added five digs. Mattie Chayhitz put up 15 assists in the winning effort.
The Valpo freshman team was able to win as well by scores of 18-25, 25-20, 15-2. The freshman team is now 12-5 (3-5 DAC). Meredith Hite scores seven kills and six assists, while Liz Rivich added five kills, five service aces, and nine digs for the Vikings.
