Vikings Upend the Slicers on the Diamond, Win 2nd in a Row

The Valparaiso High School baseball team defeated the Slicers of La Porte High School on Wednesday by a score of 7-4.

The Vikings, ranked fifth overall in the Region Sports Network Weekly Top Ten, were led by a strong game from the middle of the lineup. Valpo’s 2-6 hitters (Jeff Homes, CJ Gear, Devin Bafia, Joe Gallinatti, and Greg Thome) were responsible for eight hits, all seven of the Vikings’ runs, and four of the five RBI. Bafia threw all seven innings for the Vikings, giving up four runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
