The Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County announced today that VNA Interim President and CEO Rick Rhew has been named President and CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association.
“Rick has done a tremendous job as the Interim President and CEO, stepping in quickly to ensure that the leadership transition was as smooth as possible. We look forward to many years of his continued leadership and service to the organization,” says Steve Tomory, Chair of the Visiting Nurse Association Board of Directors.
Rick has served the VNA as Chief Financial Officer since August of 2012 and as Interim President and CEO since April of this year. Prior to coming to the VNA, Rhew served for 9 years in various roles at Methodist Hospital, most recently as the Chief Compliance Officer. From 1999 to 2003 he was the Director of Finance and Managed Care at Porter Health System. Previously he held several executive positions including Vice President & CFO at Hutcheson Medical Center in Georgia and Director of Fiscal Services at hospitals in Panama City and Cape Coral, FL. Rhew holds several degrees including an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, a B.S. in Business Management and Administration from Indiana University, an MBA from Nova University and a Master of Science degree in Health Services Management from Nova University. He is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and is certified in patient accounting and healthcare compliance.
