VNA of Porter County to offer Contingency Notebook Workshop on August 1

VNA-BLUEThe public is invited to attend a Contingency Notebook workshop on Thursday, August 1st, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Riley’s Railhouse, 123 N. 4th Street in Chesterton. The workshop is sponsored by the VNA Forever Society of the Visiting Nurse Association of Porter County.

If you took ill or were in an accident and could not communicate, how would your family or caregivers know your wishes: where to find your papers, or what you want to wear, or what to feed your pet, or which bills had to be paid?

When tragedy strikes, it's no time to go through drawers, filing cabinets and shoeboxes looking for pertinent information. Those who bear responsibility for your affairs need the relevant material immediately.

A contingency notebook is a three-ring binder containing all the information a loved one or personal representative needs to know, should you become seriously incapacitated or even die. If you do not already have a contingency notebook, emergency file, or crisis notebook with such information, the Contingency Notebook workshop, presented by Sue Nunn, will help you get started.

The Contingency Notebook workshop is offered free of charge. Please register by calling 219-531-8049 by Monday, July 29th. Seating is limited. The venue is provided by Riley’s Railhouse and refreshments will be provided by the VNA Forever Society.
