Volunteer Honored by Hilltop Neighborhood House

Hilltop-Walts-PlacePat Crosby, Community Volunteer was recently honored by the staff and children of Hilltop Neighborhood House for volunteering over 300 hours in the last six months at both the after school program and the community reception desk.

Hilltop Neighborhood House’s child care program is open year-round, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. To 6:00 p.m., and supports the growing minds and bodies of children ages 6 weeks through 6 years. “In 2011, we celebrated 16 years of service to children and their families. And, in November we will begin offering a comprehensive Kindergarten Readiness Curriculum for all preschool age children”, says Jennifer Wright, Executive Director.

Walt’s Place’s offers afterschool tutoring, snacks and recreational programs which are free of charge to school age children weekdays from 3:30-5:30 PM. Also offered are GED services, ESOL and computer classes as well as a neighborhood community advisory committee. Hilltop’s Food Pantry, located at 604 Monroe street provided assistance to 350 individuals last month.
