We Shopped. We Walked. We Read.

Sheriff_Lain_speaking_at_SWRThank you to all who attended Shop, Walk, and Read. City Administrator Bill Oeding gave a proclamation. Sheriff Dave Lain discussed the impact of domestic violence in the community. Attendees viewed The Clothesline Project and walked the steps of a victim. New York Times Best Selling Author Kate Collins hosted a book signing and donated all of the proceeds from her book sales to The Caring Place. Some of Kate's books, Mum's the Word and Dirty Rotten Tendrils have story lines that relate to domestic violence. A great time was had by all and the cake was excellent!

For Macy’s Shop for A Cause, The Caring Place was one of the top five non-profits for selling coupon books. As one of the top five, The Caring Place was invited to sell more coupon books inside the store on the day of Shop for a Cause!
