Welcome to the Family, Saint Paul Kindergarten Classes

St-Paul-Kindergarten-Collage-2016Welcome to the family! Those words were heard throughout the day for Saint Paul Catholic School kindergarten students last Friday. That's because the little ones were "adopted" into families during the school's annual Adoption Day. Twelve years ago, the school began Family Fridays to combat bullying and promote family values. The entire student body is divided into various groups or "families". Every month the families get together to work on service projects, crafts, or simply to pray with one another. At the beginning of the year, the kindergarten classes are their own families as they get adjusted to school life.

During the April meeting the youngsters are put into their permanent family at a special ceremony. "I get to be in the "Team" family", said kindergarten student Mac Mroz. The newest members got to spend the afternoon with their families creating chalk drawings promoting the environment. "I got to make the world with my new friend Lauren," said Lilly Hoffman. " I had so much fun," added Ivory Campbell talking about her "Compadres" family. Saint Paul Catholic School is currently accepting new registrations for the 2016-2017 school year family.
