Westchester Bird Sanctuary to Hold Meeting Wednesday

porter-county-parks-foundationWith the goal of transforming acres of diminished wetlands into an oasis of walkways for birding and an outdoor classroom, the Westchester Bird Sanctuary committee of the Porter County Parks Foundation will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at 4:30 p.m. in the community room of the Valparaiso Health Center (3800 St. Mary Drive, SE corner of SR-49 and Burlington Beach Rd.).

Committee members will report on recent activities, review proposals and contacts, and present new ideas. The Porter County Parks Foundation and the Purdue North Central College of Science are collaborating to establish the Westchester Bird Sanctuary as a living lab in wetland restoration and management.
