Windiana Will Present a Concert at the Memorial Opera House

Returning to the Memorial Opera House for its fourth straight year, Windiana will present a concert Thursday, February 25th at 7:30pm. memorial-opera-house

Founded in 2000, Windiana’s mission is to perform concert band literature at the highest level and to provide a concert band opportunity for professional-level musicians.

Windiana has completed four acclaimed concert tours of China (2006-9), performing more than 25 concerts in major concert halls and on television for millions of people, including preparation for the Beijing Olympics. A fifth China concert tour is being planned for 2010.

Windiana is conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Scott Doebler, Director of Music Education and Bands, Valparaiso University.

February 25th concert highlights include: The Last Days of Pompeii (1893) John Philip Sousa. (John Philip Sousa performed on the Memorial Opera stage) Six Studies in English Folk Song (1926) Ralph Vaughan Williams. Highlights from Camelot (1959) Frederick Loewe (1901-1988) Alan Lerner (1918-1986) arr. Paul Yoder, Harold Walters Tribute Harold Walters and there will much more.
