The third season of “The Sing Off” premiered on NBC this week showcasing 16 of the country’s top a cappella groups singing for America’s vote, just as the season two winner prepare to embark on Valparaiso. The all-male a cappella group, Committed, will perform on Saturday, October 22 at 7:30pm as part of the Fall Concert Series hosted by Valparaiso Community Festivals & Events (VCFE). The recently crowned “Sing Off” winners began as an Alabama gospel group that expanded their powerful vocal performances and soaring harmonies to include a combination of sacred and secular music including well-known cover songs by the Police, Maroon5, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Michael Jackson.
The second concert in the series will feature Turtle Island Quartet, a two-time Grammy award winning string chamber music group on Sunday, November 6 at 4pm. This all-string quartet is sure to dazzle multi- genre music fans as they fuse a vast array of musical styles and pay homage to legendary singer and songwriter Jimi Hendrix.

Tickets are $35 for reserved seating, $25 for adults and $15 for seniors, students and VU faculty and staff. A discount is available when purchasing tickets for both concerts together.
