Woodland Cancer Care Center to Offer Free Cervical Cancer Screenings

Woodland-Cancer-Care-CenterCervical cancer screenings will be available at no cost from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 2 at Woodland Cancer Care Center, 8955 West 400 North.

Women who are or who have been sexually active, or who have reached age 21, are encouraged to receive a pap smear annually to help detect pre-cancerous conditions and hidden tumors that may lead to cervical cancer. Women aged 70 or older, who have had three or more normal pap test results in the last 10 years, may choose to no longer have cervical cancer screenings.

Clinical breast examinations also will be offered. Breast exams are encouraged every three years for women in their 20s and 30s and annually for those 40 and older.

Heath care professionals will be on hand to answer questions. Refreshments and giveaways will be available.

For more information, contact Kammi Fox-Kay at (219) 861-5800. To register, call (800) 931-3322.
