World Alzheimer’s Day Is September 21st: A Tribute Event

September 21st is World Alzheimer’s Day, and the Alzheimer’s Association is asking people in the United States and in Indiana to join those around the world in turning their attention to this disease and joining the fight against it. The Alzheimer’s Association’s commitment to raising awareness on World Alzheimer’s Day is part of an accelerating worldwide effort to find better ways to treat the disease, delay its onset, or prevent it from developing.

Methodist Hospitals, in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association, is hosting a World Alzheimer's Day program on Monday, September 21, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00PM.  The World Alzheimer's Day program will be held the Neuroscience Building, on the south side of Methodist Hospital’s Southlake Campus, 200 E 89th Avenue in Merrillville.

You are invited this uplifting program which will include a short presentation about Alzheimer's disease and its prevalence, prayer and balloon launch.  This program is free and open to the Public.  Persons with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers are invited, as well as families and professionals.  Reservations are encouraged, but not required.  Refreshments will be served.  For more information or to RSVP, please call the Alzheimer's Association Helpline at 800.272.3900.
