XFINITY DEBUTS ULTIMATE VIEWING EXPERIENCE FOR MARCH HOOPS

Over the course of three weeks, 134 college basketball games will air live as part of the men’s and women’s NCAA tournaments. To help customers manage the madness, Comcast is bringing all live and on demand coverage from both tournaments into one seamless experience and rolling out several new features designed to make following, navigating and watching all the action easier than ever.

“There is no better place to experience all the excitement of March basketball than X1,” said John Dixon, Senior Vice President, Entertainment, Comcast Cable. “X1 has always been the best place to watch live sports, and with new features that make navigating this year’s tournament quick and easy, plus seamless access to every live game regardless of where its airing, we’re bringing customers even more ways to maximize their viewing experience.”

This year’s tournament experience on X1 will include:

  • An Uninterrupted Viewing Experience: Customerscan launch the companion X1 Sports app while watching any live game or program to keep their eyes on the big screen and stay updated with real-time scores and stats from every game of the men’s and women’s tournaments.
  • Real-Time, Interactive Bracket: With X1’s interactive tournament bracket, customers can see scores as they unfold in real-time while keeping track of both the men’s and women’s tournaments. They can set recordings or reminders for upcoming games, tune directly from the bracket if the game is airing live, and select a completed game to drill into stats and details via the X1 sports app.
  • Tune-in Alerts for Favorite Teams, Close Games, Possible Upsets, and More: Directly on X1, fans can choose to follow any men’s or women’s team to receive game start notifications and/or post-game highlights. Customers who never want to miss a moment – whether upsets, nail-biters, or Cinderella stories – can sign up for breaking news notifications. Xfinity sports editors are following all the action and when a major moment is unfolding, they will push an alert to a customer’s X1 device or phone to let them know when a can’t miss moment is unfolding.
  • Interactive Tournament Guide: More than 100 games will air across nine different channels in the first week of the tournament alone. To help customers navigate and plan their viewing, X1’s interactive tournament guide provides a comprehensive look at the days ahead. Customers can filter the interactive guide to focus on any college basketball postseason tournament, tune to live games, set recordings, and schedule reminders for upcoming matchups they don’t want to miss.

Customers who want to stay connected while on the go can launch the Xfinity Stream app to access all live coverage of the tournament in a similar, seamless viewing experience.

Comcast’s streaming platforms, Xfinity Flex and Xumo TV, will also feature a comprehensive tournament hub to help streamers find the best way to watch. Within this experience, customers will be able to view a tournament bracket, find free streaming channels and tournament news and highlights, and easily upgrade to a host of streaming services offering live coverage of all or a portion of this year’s tournaments, including Xfinity TV, Paramount+, ESPN+, Sling TV and YouTube TV.

To access the tournament destination on X1, Flex and Xumo TV, customers can simply say “March Madness” into their voice remote.
