Event Information
Porter County DCS, in partnership with Geminus, is having a Virtual 5K Run/Walk for April Prevent Child Abuse month. The event is FREE, and there are FREE T-shirts for the first 150 who register for the run/walk. T-shirts/awards and fun-packs with coupons from local vendors can be picked up at the local DCS office May 6th through May 14th during office hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at 19 East Lincolnway, Valparaiso.
Run your 5K (or walk) anywhere you like (even a treadmill!) between April 23rd and April 30th and upload your time to Run Sign up via a device or app (Garmin, Strava, etc.) when you are finished. Times may also be input manually for those who don’t have a device or app. There are age group awards for the fastest runners.
Also, just for fun, please feel free to upload pictures of you participating in the event to Instagram with the hashtag #portercountychildabuseprevention5K.
After you run, click on “results” at the bottom of the Run Sign up link and click “submit virtual results”. Hope to see you running (or walking)!
