chicago-street-rabbit-hole-01On Friday, May 23, Chicago Street Theatre is proud to present Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire. The play, which won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama runs May 23 through June 7 at the theatre located at 154 W. Chicago Street. Rabbit Hole tells the story of a couple struggling to come to terms with the loss of their three year old son, Danny and the affects his death has on their family.

Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 8 PM with a 2:30 PM Matinee on Sunday, June 1. Tickets are $18 for Adults and $15 for Students and Seniors (62 & Up). Box Office Hours are Weekdays 10 AM to 2 PM and two hours prior to show times. Purchases can also be made online at CST will hold a Thursday Talk-back performance on June 5 at 8 PM where the audience is invited to discuss the play with the cast and crew following the show.

The play is directed by CST veteran actor and director David Pera and features the ensemble cast of Mary DeBoer (Valparaiso), Dean Perrine (Chesterton), Barbara Malangoni (Valparaiso), Carly Smith (Pines) and Jacob Barber (Crown Point). Despite the subject matter of Lindsay-Abaire's play, the drama is a heartwarming story told with lots of humor and hope as the family works through their grief.

For Mary DeBoer who plays Becca in the drama, the play has been a very personal journey for her to play out on stage. Mary and her husband David have lived through the experience of having lost a child. Although the circumstances are different, Mary shared that the challenges her character faces in the play are similar to her own struggles and that has had a lot to draw from. "While it is inevitable that we will all at one time face the loss of a loved one, the loss of a child belies common sense or reason," She added," I think audiences will be captivated by this emotionally gripping and thought-provoking play."
