Porter-County-Animal-Shelter-April-Catapalooza-2015Spring is finally returning to northwest Indiana, and to celebrate, the Porter County Animal Shelter has announced its April Cat-A-Palooza feline adoption promotion. From April 1st through April 30th, the Shelter will reduce the adoption fees for black or black and white cats to only $15, and for all other cats to only $25. EVERY adoptable cat or kitten at the Shelter qualifies for the promotion.

“Spring is a time for renewal, and that includes renewing our efforts to find families for the dozens and dozens of cats and kittens currently at the Shelter,” stated Shelter Director Jon Thomas. “We want to “spring” our cats and kittens from their cages into loving, forever homes.”

Families seeking to adopt a cat or kitten will find a wide selection of colors, breeds and genders. Nearly half of the cats available are black or black and white, so potential adopters who favor black or black and white cats have a huge selection to choose from.

Each adopting family is provided with a spay/neuter certificate, if applicable, that is honored by most local veterinarians. All potential adopters must complete an adoption application and are subject to the approval by Shelter staff. Most (but not all) of the adoptable cats or kittens can be seen at or on the Shelter's Facebook page at

The Porter County Animal Shelter is located at 2056 Heavilin Road in Valparaiso. The Shelter is closed to the public on Mondays. For Tuesday through Saturday hours, please visit their Facebook page.
