Memorial Opera House - Valparaiso, IN
The LimeLights Youth Theatre Program is back at it again with their Christmas Charity Event, and this year is bigger than ever. They are teaming up with The Memorial Opera House Foundation and many of their loyal volunteers to bring a warmhearted and entertaining family friendly performance on top of a few fun little additions.
At NoonThere will be treats, including a Cookie Walk and a cash bar with a couple festive drinks (both child and adult).
December 15th - Holiday Boutique Vendor Show
Boys and Girls Club of Portage - Portage, IN
The Holiday Boutique Vendor/Craft Show is a holiday shopping event open to the public. We will showcase local crafter and small businesses in our community. You can find everything from gourmet desserts, fashion, home decor, jewelry, health and wellness products and much more.This is an event for all ages. Little Smiles Preschool will have a craft table set up for the little ones. Bring the whole family for a day of holiday shopping and fun!
December 14th - City of Crown Point Hosts Tour of Lights
Crown Point Civic Center - Crown Point, IN
The City of Crown Point hosts the The Tour of Lights is taking place Monday – Saturday from 5-9pm at the Crown Point Civic Center located at 101 S East St.
Stories provided by the Crown Point Library prior to the trolley rides. The trolley will tour the city viewing homes on the route that are decorated for the holiday season!

Portage IMAX Theatre - Portage, IN
Fathom Events and the Metropolitan Opera present a broadcast of Verdi's La Traviata, live in select cinemas nationwide on Saturday, December 15.
December 15th - Mommy's Little Piggy Eating Contest
Indiana Welcome Center - Hammond, IN
The infamous scene in "A Christmas Story" where Randy Parker eats his mashed potatoes like a "little piggy" will be recreated during this messy event. See if you can eat the most mashed potatoes the fastest or just come to watch this mess unfold! There are four age groups - 4-7, 8-12, 13-17 and 18 and over. Pre-register online. Please bring in canned food/non-perishable items as an entry fee that will be donated to the Northwest Indiana Food Bank. After the event, participants can view the exhibit, catch a showing of the "A Christmas Story" movie, decorate a cookie, create a craft, vote on your favorite tree and take a picture with Santa atop Santa's Mountain and slide into a pillow of snow. Fun for all ages!
December 14th - Winter Wonder-LAB and Planetarium Shows
Purdue University Northwest - Hammond, IN
Winter fun for everyone! Join us for hands-on, cold weather science fun. Enjoy the 60-minute popular holiday program presented on our planetarium dome. The program includes The Star of Bethlehem, followed by a highly entertaining Holiday Laser Show.
Showtimes: 4 pm, 5:15 pm, 6:30 pm Star of Bethlehem: 30 minutes Holiday Classics Laser Light Show: 30 minutes Prior to show time explore our Winter Wonder-LAB for "cool" science experiments like Snowball Catapults, Ice Orbs, Foaming Snowballs and more!

December 15th - Subaru Fill the Trunk and Share the Love Event
International Subaru of Merrillville and Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana are partnering to share the love! Over the last 10 years, through the Share the Love Event, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated more than $118 million to charity, with customers choosing between four national and over 1,170 hometown charities. On December 15th, we encourage the community to stop by International Subaru of Merrillville and help 'fill the trunk' with warm blankets, hats, gloves, and scarves that will then be delivered with a warm meal to Meals on Wheels recipients.
